Finding Faith in the Night, Truth in the Smoke

Pain, sickness, fear, tragedy, death… They are part of this imperfect world.

Sometimes we are in the thick of suffering; we cannot see clearly because the smoke clouds our view of God’s glory. We struggle to find God’s goodness when we are just fighting to catch our breath. Yet, God’s goodness is with us even when we cannot see it. The sun is present behind the smoke. A new day will dawn and God will use this trial to mold us into His image; God takes what is weak, what is broken and makes it new. He delights in using weak vessels.

Today, Lord, I come to you with my vulnerabilities and fears. I pour the perfume of my life at your feet and ask that you use its aromas to comfort the people of this world.

I pray that you send down your Angels to guide and protect us; we open our hearts and minds for a miracle today. We beg for your mercy and forgiveness. We place our Hope in you and we pray that you transform our minds and lives so that we may be the people you have called us to be. We know that the DAWN of your kingdom is just around the corner. Give us strength to confidently pursue and hope for your Kingdom even when we are surrounded by darkness.

I’m Dr. Kim Day, occupational therapist.

Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet dedicated to all things wellness and OT. Sunny Day Therapy offers occupational therapy in the Hamburg area of Lexington, Kentucky. We offer pediatric, sensory, reflex, feeding, social emotional, and mental health trainings online and in person worldwide. I also offer executive function coaching and training for therapists and teachers across state lines. Occupational therapy is a client-centered, holistic profession that empowers people to problem-solve how to complete their occupations or “valued activities” with improved independence and success. It is a paradigm-shifting, perspective-giving occupation that encourages us to think about both the person (strengths & skills), environment, and the occupation (activity of value).  Here, I invite you to join me on a journey of creativity, empathy, and healing.
