A Time and A Season for Everything

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qexh7DOtrsI

My friend shared a song about time that really impacted my faith; I can’t stop listening to the lyrics as I ponder seasons and cycles.  Opening and closing chapters has always been hard for me.  I find comfort in predictability, rituals, and routines.  Yet, I love adventures, stories, and learning.  As an English major and OT, my studies have been devoted to what it means to be a human, how to live life to its fullest, and how to find healing and meaning.  We may never fully understand the human condition; yet, we are not alone.

We are the main characters of our own STORIES… growing and making choices.  We may not know “the end or tomorrow’s story”, but we have a core of beliefs and strengths that guide us.  Unexpected plot twists and opportunities may appear.   In a world that’s literally falling apart because of the natural laws of entropy, we are no strangers to pain, challenge, and disease.  Yet, light shines brightest in the dark.

This fall, I need extra prayers of healing for my dad. I pray for hope, strength, and faith for him and our family! I pray that our seeds of light and hope will grow and conquer.  I also pray for you in whatever season of life you are facing; I pray that the light will enter all of the cracks in your life and overpower the darkness.

“Only a small crack … but cracks make caves collapse.” – Alexander Solzhenitsyn

“Let the Light Come In!”

Lyrics of “Time” song by John Lucas

My heart has known the winters

And my feet have known the snow

But mine eyes have seen the glory

Of a seed begin to grow

There is a time to uproot, darling

But most days just hold on tight

For there’s a time for darkness, honey

But dawn will always beat the night

Sometimes death will come calling

When you’ve been good and warned

And other times its cold hands will cradle

Dreams yet to be born

There is a time to dance on sorrow

And a time to kiss her cheek

There is a timе to mourn in silence

But justice achеs to hear you speak

And I don’t know the end, or tomorrow’s story

But I have found the one who gives me rest

And I will make my bed in His promises

For He holds true when nothing’s left…When nothing’s left

There is a time when laughter will echo

Through your halls of peace

But war is known to change your locks

And carry off the family keys

There is a time for healing and pain

A time for drought and a time for rain

There is a time for everything

Until we crown the risen King…Until we crown the risen King

And I don’t know the end, or tomorrow’s story

But I have found the one who gives me rest

And I will make my bed in His promises

For He holds true when nothing’s left…When nothing’s left

So crown Him in your mourning

And crown Him in your laughter

And crown Him when it all turns dark

Crown Him when you bury

And crown Him when you marry

And crown Him when your faith finds a spark

Crown Him for He’s faithful

And crown Him for He’s worthy

And crown Him for He is good

Crown Him for His promises

Cut through the blindness

Of children that have barely understood

The beauty that has come

And the beauty yet to come

And the beauty that is yours and that is mine

And that death produces life

And that we are made alive

By the King who paints beauty with time

By the King who paints beauty with time

By the King who paints beauty with time

And I don’t know the end, or tomorrow’s story

But I have found the one who gives me rest

And I will make my bed in His promises

For He holds true when nothing’s left…When nothing’s left.

I’m Dr. Kim Day, occupational therapist.

Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet dedicated to all things wellness and OT. Sunny Day Therapy offers occupational therapy in the Hamburg area of Lexington, Kentucky. We offer pediatric, sensory, reflex, feeding, social emotional, and mental health trainings online and in person worldwide. I also offer executive function coaching and training for therapists and teachers across state lines. Occupational therapy is a client-centered, holistic profession that empowers people to problem-solve how to complete their occupations or “valued activities” with improved independence and success. It is a paradigm-shifting, perspective-giving occupation that encourages us to think about both the person (strengths & skills), environment, and the occupation (activity of value).  Here, I invite you to join me on a journey of creativity, empathy, and healing. My blog will give you the write stuff, write away to inflate and inspire! For those wanting to look at Sunny Day Therapy’s clinical site, it is located at https://sunnydaytherapy.net. This blog here is devoted to education, resources, and support for caregivers seeking information.
