“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, today is a GIFT.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Expect Good Things.

Life is fragile, short, and unpredictable. The way we experience life is a unique gift.“If you want to sing out, sing out,
And if you want to be free, be free,
Cause’s there’s a million things to be.”- Cat Stevens
There are 7.4 billion people on Earth experiencing life in totally different ways today. We can alter our subjective experience through the choices we make about how to think.

Be thankful for your abilities – physical and mental. Feed your brain and body with satisfying nutrients and movements. Use it or lose it.

Keep stretching because you are breaking up your fascia and tomorrow you will be able to reach further.

Be fully engaged and mindful of your sensory experiences. What are they telling you about your preferences and your world?
Pouring yourself into others can lift you up. Pouring yourself into yourself is worth it.

Chase after your dreams, not money. The money will follow and if it doesn’t it’s only money.  Money can’t buy you health, happiness, or healthy relationships.

Boundaries are ok. Saying no is ok.

Embrace your inner child.

Cultivate anticipation. Plan rewards, vacations, and dance parties for yourself.

Do something that scares you. Watch your fear disappear.  Remember how far you’ve come.

Be bold. Be passionate. Be angry. Feel what you want, but respect others, and LET IT GO!

Failure is an opportunity for growth. Successful people crash and fail. “Keep dreaming even if it breaks your heart.” – Eli Young Band.

God is bigger than all of your problems.  You are surrounded by God’s people.

A kind word can change someone else’s world. Laughter and smiles are can ignite the world like sparks spreading positivity in a sea of doubt and despair.

Record and reflect your memories.  Keep and know what makes you happy.

Have perspective. When you face an obstacle, zoom out your camera so you can see the whole picture!  Know that time is in your favor- this too shall pass.

Treasure everything about the people you love- their quirks, their passions, their words.

Laugh at the plot twists.  Think “This will make a good story!”  What’s a story without a challenge or conflict to overcome?  Broken bones grow back stronger.

Eat a cookie everyday and have a dance party everyday.  Life is more exciting that way.

I’m Dr. Kim Day, occupational therapist.

Welcome to my cozy corner of the internet dedicated to all things wellness and OT. Sunny Day Therapy offers occupational therapy in the Hamburg area of Lexington, Kentucky. We offer pediatric, sensory, reflex, feeding, social emotional, and mental health trainings online and in person worldwide. I also offer executive function coaching and training for therapists and teachers across state lines. Occupational therapy is a client-centered, holistic profession that empowers people to problem-solve how to complete their occupations or “valued activities” with improved independence and success. It is a paradigm-shifting, perspective-giving occupation that encourages us to think about both the person (strengths & skills), environment, and the occupation (activity of value).  Here, I invite you to join me on a journey of creativity, empathy, and healing. My blog will give you the write stuff, write away to inflate and inspire! For those wanting to look at Sunny Day Therapy’s clinical site, it is located at https://sunnydaytherapy.net. This blog here is devoted to education, resources, and support for caregivers seeking information. Please contact me at kim@beewellot.com if you need additional support through skilled therapy or a teacher/organization leader interested in me designing a CEU for your organization!
